About Guides New Zealand
Guides New Zealand is all about girls and young women [aged from 5 to 18 years] - offering them opportunities to develop their own special personalities and be themselves through a range of comprehensive programmes.
We believe that confidence, self-esteem and an awareness and appreciation of the outdoors can be gained through a combination of choice, co-operation and personal challenge. It's a great way for girls to make new friends and enjoy a range of diverse activities in an environment of positive encouragement and fun.

Structure of the Region
The region is divided up into Districts. Each district normally has a District Co-ordinator, and a group of leaders who are responsible for their own unit. This unit may be a Pippin, Brownie, Guide, or Ranger unit.
Each unit may have one or more leaders who are responsible for them. As part of being a leader, training seminars, camps, and gatherings are held throughout the year. These events provide an opportunity for leaders to share ideas, information, strategies, and fellowship. There are also events held outside of Christchurch, either within New Zealand, or internationally for leaders and girls to attend.
